About the Show
What started as three friends rediscovering an adolescent pastime quickly turned into something much bigger. In early 2020—right before the world changed—we decided to dust off our dice and dive back into Dungeons & Dragons. What began as a nostalgic experiment became a creative lifeline through the pandemic, and we’ve been rolling, role-playing, and laughing ever since.
Like so many others, we realized D&D had grown far beyond childhood adventures—it had become a phenomenon for adults, a way to tell stories, explore worlds, and stay connected. Our group evolved, our campaigns deepened, and what started as “let’s just give it a whirl” turned into something we wanted to share.
Our current campaign takes place in the continent of Illrika, a land ruled by the iron hand of an Imperial regime bound tightly to a zealous religious order known as the Shakari. Magic—once a wonder of the world—is now outlawed, its practitioners hunted or forced into hiding. The empire’s roots trace back to the War of the Shakari, a brutal civil conflict that reshaped the world and left deep scars across Illrika’s people and history.
It all began, as these things often do, in a dimly lit tavern. An unlikely band of strangers crossed paths under less-than-ideal circumstances and wound up bound together by fate, survival, and the occasional pint. Since then, their journey has spiraled into something far greater—imperial politics, ancient power, divine conflict, and more NPCs than any sane DM should ever have to voice.
At its heart, our show is about friendship, storytelling, and the beautiful chaos that happens when imagination takes the wheel. Whether you’re here for the laughs, the lore, or the late-night heroics, welcome to Illrika. We’re glad you found us.
The Hosts
Dave Slingo
Dungeon Master
He comes armed with plots, puzzles, and carefully balanced encounters… which the players immediately derail with a single bad pun. Still, somehow, he smiles through it all.
Troy Howtifet
Player
Every campaign needs a wild card. Ours just happens to be armed with relentless wit and an unshakable love of shenanigans.
Trigg Woblin
Player
Living proof that you can know the rulebook by heart and still have the world’s worst session notes. Ask him about a mechanic? He’s got you. Ask him what the NPC’s name was? Good luck!
Guest Hosts
Katie Slingo
Player
When Katie’s at the table, the rules of logic and tone no longer apply. Her characters do the most ridiculous things—and somehow she makes them sound like the most important decisions.
Trent Glonstan
Player
Trent started the journey with us, bringing the voice of a southern grandpa in a twenty-something body. He left after episode nine, but his countryisms live on forever in our in-jokes.
Kayla Howtifet
Player
Kayla’s characters are always a little weird, a little brilliant, and a lot hilarious. Basically, she fits right in!
The Characters
Dangle Deepbutter
Lagustarian Halfling Bard
Played by: Troy
Dangle had money once, but he blew it all. Now he just scams, charms, and bluffs his way through life—and somehow, it keeps working. He is living proof that charisma really is a dump stat for common sense.
Gerald Elmfellow
Somdadian Wood Elf Druid
Played by: Trigg
Basically he is what happens when you let a golden retriever go on an epic adventure. Endlessly eager, ridiculously naïve, and somehow still alive.
Gearoth Stonefist
Goliath Shakari Paladin
Played by: Trent
Gearoth works for the Shakari, but let’s be honest—he mostly works for his stomach. A faithful paladin until the next tavern meal or epic brawl comes along.
Rondri
Gnome Ranger
Played by: Katie
Rondri survives on luck, charm, and panther power—but mostly luck. Also, she will absolutely fangirl over Dangle Deepbutter at every opportunity, much to his confusion
Trixie
Elven Cleric
Played by: Kayla
Every party needs a cleric who treats necromancy like a hobby and fashion like a calling. Trixie handles both with style.
